Support Me

As family and friends of Jim, we celebrate and remember his life.  His diagnosis and death were sudden.   Lung cancer took his life way too soon, without significant signs and without the chance to fight.  The V Foundation can help others detect cancer early and give them the chance to live a longer, healthier life.

Cancer research is important to us because we know, someday, cancer will be a disease of the past. As an avid sports fan and ESPN supporter, the V Foundation was a clear choice for our family.

About the V Foundation for Cancer Research

The V Foundation for Cancer Research is dedicated to declaring Victory Over Cancer®. It was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State basketball coach and ESPN commentator. Since 1993, the Foundation has funded more than $250 million in cancer research grants nationwide. It awards 100% of direct donations to cancer research and programs. The V Foundation’s endowment covers administrative expenses. The Foundation awards peer-reviewed grants through a competitive award process vetted by an all-colunteer Scientific Advisory Committee.

By making a donation, you support cutting-edge research nationwide for all cancer types. You will be saving lives. Make a difference today. Join us!
