PIKE JimmyV - Garnet and Gold

Statement from PIKE - Delta Omega: Every year, our Fraternity holds our largest philanthropy event of the school year, The Garnet & Gold week for the Jimmy V. Foundation.  By gaining new and generous participants we have been able to raise more and more money each year to help fund cancer research.  After reaching our goal of $30,000 last year, we approach the G&G week eager to gain assistance from friends, families, and supporters of our Chapter.  Now in our 16th year hosting the event, our goal is to raise $15,000. The goal has been lowered due to our lack to have in person gathering with the COVID-19 Pandemic.  We hope to gain your support and generosity to reach our goal and help the fight against cancer

The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State University basketball coach and ESPN commentator. The Foundation has funded more than $250 million in cancer research grants nationwide. The V Foundation awards 100 percent of direct donations to cancer research and related programs. The V Foundation’s endowment covers administrative expenses. The Foundation awards peer-reviewed grants through a competitive award process strictly supervised by a Scientific Advisory Committee.
