In January, 2017, Central Regional Boys Basketball coach, Mike Clemente and his program hosted their first Coaches v Cancer Showcase, joining a national fundraiser to support cancer research. Later that year the event took on a more personal meaning when in July 2017 Coach Clemente was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at the age of 32. Following his diagnosis, Coach Clemente underwent intense chemotherapy at Monmouth Medical Center that was successful in defeating the disease. With a goal of helping Monmouth's Cancer Services Program, the program was able to raise over $20,000. thanks to the generous support of our donors. Overall, our showcase has been able to donate over $110,000 to help fund research and to support cancer patients and their families. In 2019 we joined forces with the V Foundation, as every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research. Last year our showcase donated $25,309 and we were the 4th largest local fundraiser for the foundation..Please help us in our efforts to end cancer and support this event.
