Unfortunately, I have stage 4, terminal, lung cancer, and it's the exact type (adenocarcinoma) that afflicted Jimmy Valvano. In The Speech (Espy Awards), Jimmy profoundly stated that he and ESPN were starting the V Foundation for Cancer Research, and that "It may not save my (his) life, it may save my (his) children's lives. It may save someone you love." For me, it probably won't save my life either (terminal), but cancer research and breakthroughs have given me a "normalized" quality of life and with some longevity. Jimmy paid it forward to me and to millions of others. As such, I would like to do the same and raise funds and pay it forward to others as well. It is now my "Soul Purpose" legacy to support my new hero, Jimmy V, and this will be achieved by throwing the Greater Good for Cancer Research fundraiser party and perhaps making this an annual event. Donations will help fight cancer now and into the future with further breakthroughs. Will you join me by supporting my cause and donating directly to the V Foundation for Cancer Research through the Greater Good efforts? Let's make a difference!
