Hello. My name is Chase Smith. I am one of six children and I am a sophomore at the Out-of-Door Academy (ODA) in Sarasota, Florida. My father, Scott Smith, passed away five months ago. He died of esophageal cancer that was caused by radiation he received 12 years ago which cured him of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He battled this latest cancer fiercely for 22 months and taught me strength, resilience, and how to never give up. He is my hero.
On March 23rd, I will be raising money in his honor for the V Foundation at an all day ODA Thunder Classic Track & Field event. We will be selling Starbucks coffee, breakfast items, açaí bowls, Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, and more.
