Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
A little over 6-1/2 years ago, our good friend, Greg "Flako" Feldman and his wife, Teena and their wonderful family, began an extremely difficult journey to fight a pancreatic cancer diagnosis that ultimately took Flako from us in July of 2018. Our connection to The V Foundation came about through chance, luck, and the kind heart of Coach Mike Krzyzewski of Duke University. You see, Flako was a diehard Duke men's basketball fan, and more importantly, was a huge Coach K fan! After making contact with Coach K's office, asking for a note of inspiration, Coach K made the day of a very sick fan. He called to talk to Flako personally! It proved to be a very uplifting moment in a very difficult time. As Friends of FlakoStrong, we wanted to thank Coach K for his enormous generosity. With the help of the Logan County Fair Board, the Knights of Columbus and the community of Lincoln, IL and Logan County, we had our first "A Night Out"! It was to be our way of thanking Coach K in donating to a cause that, as a Board Member, he is very passionate about. What we have found, is that his passion has become our passion, and we have continued the event to raise funds for cancer research. We have continued our event in Flako's memory and the memory of all of our friends and neighbors who have been touched by these terrible diseases. Please help us again this year as we raise funds for The V Foundation and their fight against cancer.
We are excited to support the V Foundation for Cancer Research, an organization committed to declaring Victory Over Cancer®. The research the V Foundation funds is critical. By making a donation you will be supporting carefully vetted, cutting-edge research at prominent cancer centers nationwide. Will you join us in the fight against cancer by donating today?
